Hello! Do you want your little ones to eat fruit but don’t know what to make them for snack time? Don’t worry! Apple pancakes are the solution.
Today we bring you one of those kids’ recipes that will make our taste buds tingle, since it combines the traditional American pancakes with a fun and interactive format to help your children get used to eating healthier.
These apple pancakes are a very easy kids’ recipe that you can make this Christmas in a matter of minutes, getting your little ones involved in the preparation. In this way, they will understand everything that feeding them more healthily involves and will be more aware of the importance of eating fruit. While you prepare the recipe, you can tell them that apples are the favourite fruit of ponies and horses, and that thanks to their high potassium and calcium content, their bones will grow very strong.

Ingredients for the cinnamon apple pancakes. (12 pancakes for 4 people)
- 250 grams of flour.
- 2 apples.
- 2 eggs.
- 150 grams of sugar.
- 1 glass of milk.
- 1 spoon of baking powder.
- Half a spoon of cinnamon.
- Margarine
- Butter or honey (to taste).
How is it prepared?
The first thing we need to do is wash the apples thoroughly, applying a special fruit and vegetable wash or simply water. Once you have done this, grab a peeler and immediately start removing the skin carefully so as not to waste the flesh.
Then core them and cut them into small slices or cubes (whichever is most convenient). It is important to note that this step CANNOT be done by a child on their own, due to the latent risk of cutting themselves because they do not have enough precision to grip any sharp tool.

1.- With all the apples prepared, grate them into a glass bowl and leave them there together with the juice. This liquid will serve as an essence to give flavour to the pancakes.

2.- On the other hand, put a frying pan on the heat with a knob of butter and let it heat up for 5-7 minutes.

3.- Add flour, 1 egg, sugar and a spoon of baking powder to the same bowl you used for the apples, where they were grated earlier. Mix everything together with an immersion blender or in the food processor (use whichever appliance is easiest for you), adding the glass of milk halfway through the process and the remaining egg.
Keep mixing gradually until you get a homogeneous consistency, making sure there are no lumps or any other unpleasant element that could ruin this wonderful kids’ recipe.

4.- DONE! You now have the mixture ready for your apple pancakes. Now you are going to add a scoop of this mixture to a ladle, and you will keep pouring until you get a round shape in the frying pan you had heated up earlier.

5.- Once in the frying pan, flip your apple pancakes every 2 minutes so they cook properly on both sides. Take them out as soon as you see they are golden brown.

What can you serve apple pancakes with?
You can serve the apple pancakes with the topping of your choice (honey, chocolate, butter, jam), enjoying them to the fullest with those little ones who bring so much joy to your life.
We advise NOT eating them hot or with very cold drinks to avoid cramps or other stomach discomforts, which could unnecessarily lead to any medical emergency.
See? Kids’ recipes are a fantastic mechanism to discipline your children, teaching them the true value of each of those things they have at home every day.
